The crocodile symbol captures a light-hearted, friendly interpretation of an otherwise, frightening creature. It was an
obvious choice to represent Australia Zoo in a visual sense, as it is almost instinctive to associate crocodiles with the
zoo thanks to Steve Irwin’s intense wildlife documentary series, The Crocodile Hunter.

Utilising approachable symbolism and a eco-friendly, culture-influenced colour scheme allowed the redesign to reflect
the zoo’s values and give it a modern twist, taking advantage of its associated visual interpretation. Producing a fresh,
modernised design with respect for the park’s history, brings Steve Irwin’s legacy into the modern day, with the purpose
and determination to prohibit his vision from only existing as something of the past.
